My name is Louis Morales, I'm a sophomore at Mililani High School and an AP Environmental Science student. YES Futures is an excellent program that Environmental Science students take part in each year, where the students identify and research a sustainability problem of our choice within our community and implement sustainable solutions.

For my own YES Futures project, I have created and implemented a curriculum that centers around agriculture and the origin of one's food. This curriculum was implemented in a 5th grade classroom at Kipapa Elementary School. The curriculum goes about explaining where our food may come from, what goes into producing that food, the journey of food from the field to your plate, the impacts on the environment, and what we can all do to make better decisions in what food we consume, and how that may impact the environment. All of this compacted into an easy-to-grasp and fun way for kids to learn and make important life choices.
